• For his career day, Stone was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18.
•
Jordan Kerley recorded his first multi-touchdown game of his collegiate career, finishing with two receiving touchdowns.

• SMU has won the last two meetings at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
• The Mustangs have scored at least 35 points in the last four games in which they were the road team in the series.

• TCU enters the game receiving votes in the most recent AP and Coaches Polls.
THE COACHES
•
Rhett Lashlee is in his second season as the head coach at SMU and has a 9-7 career record. Lashlee, who served as offensive coordinator for the Mustangs for two seasons (2018-19), also served as the offensive coordinator at Miami in 2020 and 2021. A one-time finalist (2013) and two-time semifinalist (2019, 2020) for the Broyles Award, Lashlee has the distinction of being the only coach ever nominated for the Broyles Award four different times at four different schools (Arkansas State, Auburn, SMU, Miami).
• Sonny Dykes is in his second season as head coach of the Horned Frogs. Dykes has a record of 15-3 at TCU and a career record of 86-66.
PONY UP DALLAS
• In just seven days after announcing the move into the Atlantic Coast Conference on Sept. 1, SMU raised $100 million to support the Mustangs' transition to the ACC in 2024.
• The generous early commitments from a group of thirty donors that includes trustees and key donors – alumni and non-alumni alike – will enable SMU to align and compete with an elite group of national institutions with powerhouse athletic programs, benefiting both SMU Athletics and the entire University community.
• The move to the new conference is also creating additional impact. Mustang fans have responded enthusiastically to the planned move, with men's basketball season ticket sales jumping 30% in the last week and hundreds of new football season tickets being sold as well.
• Notably, the move has immediately raised SMU's profile, with media coverage of the move generating more than $163 million in advertising value in the first three days.
• In that same small window, SMU also experienced a 103% increase in visitors to its undergraduate admissions homepage.
THE IRON SKILLET
• During the post-World War II college football boom, the SMU and TCU student bodies created a traveling trophy called the Iron Skillet that was presented to the winner of the annual football game between the archrivals. The tradition eventually died, and the skillet was lost.
• In 1993, however, the tradition was revived as the president of the SMU student body painted the face of the TCU student body president red and blue following the Mustangs' 21-15 victory in Fort Worth. The engraved skillet is presented to the winning team after each game.
