DALLAS (SMU) — Jimena Leal earned a NCAA B Standard in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.88 in her first place finish in Friday's swimming and diving meet against Texas. The evening meet also served as senior night, with senior Johanna Gudmundsdottir placing in the top three in all four events she competed in.

12 other seniors were honored at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center, with senior Maddy Lewis earning second in the 100 breast, hitting the pad in 1:01.74.

"This was something that's really special," senior Jenna Watson said. "Being a part of a team and learning how to work together and support each other. I think that's something that's so important nowadays. I came in with a class of 10 girls, and there's nine of us still here on the team today."

The Mustangs claimed a win in the 200 fly, with sophomore Carlotta Scarpitti earning the victory with her time of 2:01.21. Seniors Maxine Parkinson and Mya VanderHagen took second and third, respectively. Parkinson finished with a final time of 2:02.95 and VanderHagen touched the wall in 2:03.63.

Parkinson later took second again in the 100 fly, out-touching four other swimmers with her time of 55.31.

Watson clinched second in the 200 breast in 2:15.15 — a new personal best for her this season. She also earned another season personal best in the 200 IM, touching first with a time of 2:01.26.

"Obviously, going into senior night there are a lot of emotions," Watson said. "I've had the blessing to be with these girls for four years and to see one another grow. was able to channel that energy into the races. That was something that was really rewarding to look over and hear, hear my teammates screaming."

In the diving well, freshman Ava Andersen totaled 270.45 for fourth place in the 3 meter. Senior Jaclynn Fowler clinched second in the 1 meter with a final score of 306.60.

The 200 medley relay saw Leal, Lewis, Johanna Gudmundsdottir and Isabella Bedoya combine to touch the wall in 1:40.29 — earning third.

Gudmundsdottir, Bedoya, senior Indra Vandenbussche and Lucrezia Napoletano combined for the first place finish in the 200 free relay, hitting the pad in 1:31.43.

Leal went on to finish third in the 100 back in 53.99, just 0.17 seconds shy of a B Standard. Teammate and new addition CJ Kovac came in just behind Leal in fourth, touching in 56.40.

Gudmundsdottir later finished the 100 free in 49.75 for second. She also earned third in the 50 free, finishing with a time of 22.82.
