Parr Named To Lombardi Award Watch List

Aug 15

HOUSTON (SMU) – SMU offensive lineman Logan Parr has been named to the Lombardi Award Watch List, the Lombardi Award Committee announced on Thursday.

The Lombardi Award was established in 1970 in memory of legendary coach Vince Lombardi. It is presented to outstanding linemen who best epitomize their values of leadership, courage, performance and discipline on and off the field. Furthermore, the watchlist includes players who consistently show the values of strength, agility and football acumen in their respective positions.

Parr appeared in all 14 games last season and started 13 at left guard. Following the season, the Helotes native earned All-AAC First Team, Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas Second Team and PFF All-AAC Team accolades.

The watch list marks the fourth preseason honor the senior has earned. He has been named to the DCTF All-Texas Second Team Offense, Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team and Athlon Sports Preseason All-ACC Third Team offense.

The Lombardi Award represents much more than the distinction involved. It memorializes the perspiration, dedication, and perseverance of these exceptional athletes. As they compete on the gridiron, they inspire future generations of football players and continue the legacy of a coaching icon.
