STILLWATER, Okla. (SMU) – The SMU women's tennis team fell to Arkansas (1-0) in their first matchup in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Saturday in Stillwater.
 
Drew Morris and Arianna Stavropoulos remain undefeated in doubles play to start the spring season, winning decisively on court three 6-0 for SMU's first doubles win of the day. Shortly after, Sophie Llewellyn and Ellie Pittman also improved to 3-0 as a tandem in the spring, taking down their Arkansas foe on court two 6-2. The win gave SMU the early 1-0 advantage and earned the Mustangs the doubles point for the third consecutive match.
 
SMU went up 2-0 thanks to a court-six win in singles action by Millie Skelton, who improved to 3-0 in dual spring action. Arkansas put their first point on the board with a win on court two as Olga Bienzobas got the best of Ellie Pittman 6-4, 7-5.
 
Sophie Llewellyn notched her second singles win of spring with a 6-3, 7-6 victory on court four to put SMU in prime position to win the match, up 3-1. Unfortunately, Arkansas completed the comeback with wins on court three, one, and five to win 4-3.

SMU will take on Clemson in the ITA Kickoff Stillwater regional consolation match against Clemson tomorrow at 11 am.
