CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – SMU kicker Sam Keltner has been named ACC Specialist of the Week, the conference announced in a release on Monday.
The redshirt freshman played a critical role in the Mustangs' 35-24 victory over Clemson on Oct. 18. Keltner went 3-for-3 in field goals, including a career-long 51-yarder. He also went 2-for-3 in PATs.
In the second quarter, the Texas native put up two 48-yard field goals. Kelter also registered eight kickoffs for 519 yards, averaging 64.9 yards per kick and earning six touchbacks.
After making his collegiate debut in this season's win at Missouri State, Kelter has gone 7-10 in field goals. In kickoffs, he has registered 41 kicks for 2,593 yards and 24 touchbacks this campaign. The kicker currently leads the team in scoring with 38 points.
