Smith And Harden Nab ACC Player Of The Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – SMU football running back TJ Harden and defensive end Isaiah Smith both earned ACC Player of the Week honors after the Mustangs' commanding 45-13 victory over Boston College, announced the conference in a release on Monday.

Harden nabbed ACC Running Back of the Week after playing a critical part in the Mustangs' run game against Boston College. He notched 16 carries for a season-high 130 rushing yards, including a long of 53.

In 2025, the running back has recorded 133 runs for 613 yards, scoring six touchdowns. He ranks ninth in the ACC for total rushing yards and tenth in rushing touchdowns. In the preseason, Harden was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list. 

Isaiah Smith had a career game against Boston College, earning him ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week. He registered nine tackles, 3.5 sacks and 4 tackles-for-loss, all good for career highs.

Nationally, Smith is fourth in tackles for loss (1.60), a conference-leading mark. The defensive end ranks second in the ACC in total sacks with 7.5, tying him for 17th nationally. With Smith leading the defense, SMU places second in FBS in red zone defense (0.658) and eighth in team sacks (3.30), both marks leading the ACC. In the preseason, Smith was named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team.
