FORT WORTH, Texas (Davey O'Brien Foundation/SMU) – SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings has been named to the Davey O'Brien Award Great 8, announced the Davey O'Brien Foundation on Monday.

Jennings earned this honor after leading the Mustangs to a commanding 38-6 defeat over ACC opponent Louisville. The win brings SMU to an 8-3 record along with a 6-1 conference mark.

The redshirt junior was also selected to the Manning Award Stars of the Week earlier on Monday.

Efficient at spreading the offense, Jennings has completed a pass to at least seven receivers in each game this season. After the win over the Cardinals, the quarterback now ranks second in SMU history for career passing yards (7,181) and career total offensive yards (7,712).

The Texas native currently ranks in the top 12 in FBS in four categories, placing ninth in passing yards (3,113), ninth in passing yards per game (283.0), 10th in completions per game (23.18) and 12th in passing touchdowns (24). With Jennings at the helm, the Mustangs' passing offense ranks 14th in the nation (286.5). 

The quarterback earned this weekly accolade earlier this season after SMU's overtime victory over Miami on Nov. 1. Prior to the beginning of the season, Jennings was selected for multiple honors, including spots on the Maxwell Award Watch List, the Johnny Unitas Gold Arm Award Watch List, the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List, the Manning Award Watch List and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.
