DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis fell 4-0 to top-seeded Wake Forest 4-3 on the ITA National Indoor Championship opening day at Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex on Friday.
 
SMU battled the second-ranked Demon Deacons in a match that lasted over 2 hours.
 
The Mustangs are now 7-4 in the season. They will resume their ITA National Indoor Championship campaign in the back draw beginning Saturday.
 
How it Went
SMU's pair of Maks Silagy and Georgi Georgiev dropped the day's first match with a loss to Stefan Dostanic and DK Suresh Ekambaram (6-3). The Mustangs dropped the doubles point as Vikas Deo and Xavier Calvelo fell to Ioannis Xilas and Franco Capalbo (6-3)
 
Wake Forest's Luca Pow scored the match's second point with a win over Noah McDonald (6-2, 6-1).
 
The Deacs' seventh-ranked DK Suresh Ekambaram and Luciano Tacchi won their matches to clinch the match at 4-0 for Wake Forest.
