DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's tennis went a perfect 2-0 Sunday afternoon in their doubleheader, taking down Louisville for their first ACC win 4-1, and defeating Incarnate Word 4-0 in the second match.
The two wins pushed the Mustangs to 7-5 on the year and 1-1 in their inaugural ACC season. SMU improved their series lead over Louisville to 6-1 and is now 2-0 against Incarnate Word.

The Mustangs wasted no time clinching the doubles point against the Cardinals.
Sophie Llewellyn and
Ellie Pittman extended their win streak to four straight doubles wins as a pairing, defeating Allie Gretkowski and Lika Peresypkina 6-1.
Kayla Schefke and
Arianna Stavropoulos followed with a 6-2 win to give SMU their first point of the day. Before the point was clinched,
Drew Morris and
Caroline McGinley held firm against the No. 82 ranked tandem Elisabeth Iila and Alice Otis, with the matchup locked at 4-4 before the stoppage.
SMU jumped to a 3-0 lead in singles action by winning on courts four and two. Stavropoulos earned the first singles win for the Mustangs against Louisville, defeating Allie Gretkowski 6-0, 6-4. Then,
Ellie Pittman collected her sixth singles win of the dual match season with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Lika Peresypkina.
The Cardinals got one back on court five, as Germany Davis got the best of McGinley 6-1, 7-5, but
Sophie Llewellyn clinched the match for SMU at position one, winning 7-5, 6-3 over Alice Otis.

SMU vs. Incarnate Word
Incarnate Word got a leg up in doubles, securing the first win as Estefania Gonzalez and Lyric Bonilla snapped Llewellyn and Pittman's four-match winning streak with a 6-3 win on court one. However, SMU was able to still secure the doubles point by winning the other two matches. Morris and McGinley got the job done on court two, fending off Amelie Montalvo and Smilia Matovic for a 6-3 win. Then, Schefke and Stavropoulos collected their second win on the day, defeating Byfield and Hernandez 6-3.
The Mustangs got off to a smooth start in singles action, taking the first set in all but one of the six courts.
Drew Morris put the first singles win on the board with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Matovic, followed by
Millie Skelton winning 6-1, 6-1 on court five, and then
Kayla Schefke clinching the match with a 6-3, 6-0 court six victory.
