STANFORD, Calif. (SMU) – SMU Women's Tennis fell to No. 27 Stanford 4-0 in their first road ACC showing Friday afternoon in California. The win by the Cardinals improves their record to 10-2, 3-0 ACC, while the Mustangs fall to 8-8 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.

The Mustangs dropped the doubles point for the first time in five matches as Stanford collected wins on courts one and two. Caroline Driscoll and Valencia Xu (STAN) took down June Bjork and Drew Morris 6-1 for the first result of the match. Then, No. 37 Valerie Glozman and Connie Ma (STAN) clinched the doubles point by handing No. 45 Sophie Llewellyn and Ellie Pittman just their fourth doubles loss of the season together by a 6-3 decision. No. 64 Kayla Schefke and Arianna Stavropoulos were even at 3-3 with Chidimma Okpara and Morgan Shaffer from Stanford before the clinch.

In singles action, Stanford got the best of the Mustangs, winning on courts two, five, and then three to claim the match. No. 20 Connie Ma (STAN) won over Ellie Pittman 6-1, 6-0, followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win for Chidimma Okpara (STAN) over Kayla Schefke. The match was clinched by #68 Valencia Xu (STAN), who took down #120 Drew Morris 6-2, 6-1.
