Clemson, S.C. (SMU) – The SMU women's tennis team fell short to No. 37 Clemson (14-10-2, 4-8 ACC) Friday afternoon, falling 4-2 to the Tigers.
 
The Tigers took a tightly contested doubles point, winning on courts one and three. Clemson's No. 39 ranked doubles team of Gaia Parravicini/Amelia Smejkalova won 6-3 on court one over SMU's Sophie Llewellyn and Caroline McGinley. Annabelle Davis and Sophia Hatton clinched the doubles point for the Tigers, holding off the Mustangs' pairing of Arianna Stavropoulos/Kayla Schefke with a 7-5 win on court three. Before the clinch, Clemson's court two pairing, No. 77 ranked Candela Yecora/Romana Cisovska, held a slight 6-5 lead over Ellie Pittman and Drew Morris.
 
Ellie Pittman evened the score for the SMU with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Annabelle Davis. The Tigers won their first singles match on court six as Gaia Parravicini (CU) defeated McGinley 6-2, 6-3. The Tigers responded with another win on court four, 6-4, 6-4, by Artemis Aslanisvili (CU) over Stavropoulos to draw a victory closer to clinching the match. Drew Morris got one back for the Mustangs, collecting her second ranked singles win of the year with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win over No. 111 Sophie Hatton (CU). However, Candela Yecora (CU) got the best of Schefke 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to finish off the Friday conference matchup.
