AUBURN, Ala. (SMU) - SMU men's golf finished in sixth place, five strokes back of an advancing position, at the NCAA Auburn Regional.
 
 SMU came into the day in seventh place, needing to move up into the top five to earn a bid to the NCAA Championship. They were four shots back of an advancing spot. During the round, they were as many as eight shots back before cutting it closer with three holes per player to play. At the end of the day, the Mustangs found themselves on the outside with a 15-over score. Georgia Tech took the final spot at 10-over par. Auburn ran away with the title at 32-under.

Zachary Kingsland shot par or better in every round of the tournament. He carded a one-under 71 in the final round. The Austin, Texas native finished in a tie for 10^th.  Kingsland finishes the season with a 70.79 scoring average, the seventh best mark in program history. He now has two of the eight lowest season scoring averages for an SMU golfer.  He racked up two individual titles during the season.
 
Will Sides finished in 25^th at the Regional. He shot four-over for the tournament. His best round came with an opening-round 70. Sides shot 71.15 on the season, the 11^th best mark in program history. His 21 rounds of par or better this season rank 10^th at SMU.
 
Areen Aggarwal moved up the leaderboard on Wednesday. He shot a 74 to finish in a tie for 31^st. His season scoring average was 73.00.

Enrique Dimayuga shot 10-over for the tournament to finish in 48^th. He wrapped up the season with a 71.48 scoring average, 15^th best at SMU.
 
Matthew Foster finished in 66^th at 16-over. He finished the season with a 73.42 scoring average.
 
The Mustangs wrapped up the season with a 285.03 season scoring average, +0.30 above par on average. That mark ranks third all-time at SMU. The team finished with 15 rounds of par or better, tied for fifth best season mark for a Mustang team.
