COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (SMU) – SMU volleyball transfer setter, Averi Carlson, has been selected as one of the 18 athletes who will train with the 2025 Women's U23 National Team for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup, July 25-August 2 in Leon, Mexico. 

Carlson and selected athletes will gather for a training block at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif., from July 18-25. 12 athletes will be chosen from this pool to represent the United States in Mexico. 

DePaul University women's head coach Marie Zidek will lead the team, assisted by five-time Olympian Danielle Scott (LOVB) and Olympian Kayla Banwarth (PVF). 
Carlson is one of three SMU players who will train for a national team this summer, joining Jadyn Living and Favor Anyanwu, who will compete for a U21 roster spot on July 20–28 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
