LAKE FOREST, Ill. (SMU) – SMU men's golf moved into an eighth-place finish at the Windon Memorial Classic at Knollwood Club just outside Chicago.

The Mustangs came into the final day alone in seventh place at 13-under par. They shot two-under in the final round to move one back in eighth. The team finished just three shots back of a spot in the top four. The field included seven teams ranked or receiving votes including the Mustangs. SMU's best round came in a nine-under second round performance.

Christian Clark had his best finish as a member of the Mustang lineup with an eighth-place standing. Clark shot rounds of 69 and 68 on the first day. He finished up with an even-par 72. He birdied 15 times during the week with one eagle.

Will Sides and
Areen Aggarwal shared 21
st place. Aggarwal jumped up 12 spots during the final round. He carded 70s in his final two rounds to complete his climb. Aggarwal played the par fives seven under during the week, the fifth best in the field. Sides was one of three Mustangs to card even par 72 on the final round. He has shot par or better in all six rounds this season.

Zachary Kingsland shot even par to finish at one-under for the tournament. His best stretch of the week came in round two when he birdied six of nine holes to start his front nine. He finished in a tie for 35
th.
Gabe Post finished in a tie for 74
th.

The Mustangs return home for their next tournament. SMU hosts the Trinity Forest Invitational October 5-7.
