AUSTIN, Texas (CSC/SMU) – SMU Football's Matthew Hibner, Morgan Tribbett and Sam Keltner have earned spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced the organization in a release.

To earn academic all-district recognition, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average as both an undergraduate and a graduate student, be at least a sophomore academically and have played in at least 90% of his team's games or started at least 66% of his team's games in 2025.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Starting in all 13 games this campaign, Hibner had 31 receptions for 436 yards, including a long of 80 and four touchdowns. For his efficient play, the tight end was named a Campbell Trophy Semifinalist and All-ACC Honorable Mention. The graduate student found success off the field as well, earning academic all-conference honors for the past four years.

Keltner played a crucial role in the Mustang special teams unit, making 14 field goals and 36 PATs for a team-leading total of 78 points. The Keller, Texas, native recorded 4,744 yards and 42 touchbacks on 76 kickoffs. For his performance in the Mustangs' 35-24 victory over Clemson on Oct. 18, Keltner was named ACC Specialist of the Week and the Lou Groza Star of the Week for the first time in his career.

Tribbett played as the starting long snapper for the Mustangs, serving as the foundation for punter Wade McSparron to record 55 punts for 2,337 yards and for Keltner. The Colorado native saw action in every game this season.

All three honorees helped SMU to a 9-4 record and a victory at the Trust & Will Holiday Bowl.
