DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- SMU will head to Lubbock this weekend to compete in the Texas Tech Corky Classic on Friday and Saturday. This will be the team's first meet of 2026. 

In the Mustang's early December meet, SMU posted five personal bests and two top-10 SMU marks – showing impressive performances for the SMU newcomers early in the season. 

The meet will have 22 teams competing with a number of local Texas teams and teams from across the country. This will be the first of two meet weekends before the initial rankings of the 2026 track and field season come out on January 27th.  

The meet will be streamed both days on ESPN+, and live results will also be provided to follow along with the meet in real time.
