WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (SMU) - SMU finished in 10
th place at the Southwestern Invitational after playing the final round on Wednesday at North Ranch Country Club.

The Mustangs headed into the final day in ninth place among the 13 teams, all ranked in the top 100. After moving down early in the day, the Mustangs made a late push to move back into the top 10. Pepperdine, the tournament hosts, won the tournament at 11-under with a 17-stroke cushion.

Will Sides posted his fourth top 20 finish of the season in just his fifth start. He finished in 11
th just narrowly missing another top 10 showing. He carded a 69, one under par, on the final day. He birdied 13 times during the tournament.

Gabe Post tied for his best collegiate finish with a 17
th-place showing. He shot 73 on the final day. Post recorded an eagle on day one with a three on a 532-yard hole.

Zachary Kingsland carded a 77 in the final round. He finished in a tie for 47
th after three rounds. Kingsland also recorded an eagle, his two-under score came on day two. Senior
Christian Clark shot 79 on Wednesday to finish in 68
th. He shot even par 70 in round one. Junior
Matthew Foster finished in 71
st.

The Mustangs return to California for their next tournament. Hosted by UC Davis, the Prestige tournament in Palm Springs runs Feb. 16-18.
