Mustang Partners Introduces B2B Initiative, Announces New Partnerships with NOCAP Sports, Ramp

New Business-to-Business Platform Creates Innovative Revenue Stream for Scholarships, NIL Advancement and Revenue Sharing

DALLAS (SMU) – Mustang Partners announced the launch of a new Business-to-Business (B2B) vertical, an initiative designed to connect SMU donor-led and affiliated businesses with trusted service providers, all while generating new recurring revenue to support SMU Athletics.

The new platform expands the Mustang Partners ecosystem by creating opportunities for alumni, donors and business leaders to support SMU Athletics through everyday business operations. Revenue generated through participating partnerships will directly benefit key SMU Athletics priorities, including scholarships, NIL advancement, revenue sharing and other initiatives that strengthen the student-athlete experience.

"We created Mustang Partners to build new opportunities and connect strategic partners in innovative ways," said Brian Ullmann, Executive Deputy Athletic Director for SMU Athletics. "We believe this new B2B initiative represents another key step in building a forward-thinking athletic department."

The B2B vertical launches with two founding partnerships: Ramp and NOCAP Sports, each providing business solutions while creating a new source of funding for SMU Athletics.

NOCAP Sports

Through its partnership with NOCAP Sports, SMU donors and SMU-affiliated businesses gain access to a portfolio of vetted, nationally recognized service providers across key operational categories.

When participating businesses engage with these providers, a portion of the resulting revenue flows directly back to SMU Athletics. The model creates a sustainable, recurring funding stream that supports the department's priorities without requiring a single additional donation from participating businesses.

"SMU challenged us to think bigger than athletics and, as a result, we are deploying the NOCAP model throughout every layer of the university, from the boardroom to the classroom," said Adam Gunn, Chief Operating Officer, NOCAP Sports Revenue Solutions. "Mustang supporters can now contribute to SMU simply by being smarter about how they manage their commercial relationships. We believe this is the first of many university-wide integrations."

Ramp

Ramp is a finance operations platform that helps businesses save time and money by streamlining corporate cards, expenses, bill payments, procurement, travel, and finance automation in one place. Through its partnership with SMU, Ramp gives alumni-led companies, Dallas-area businesses, and Mustang supporters a simple way to modernize their operations while supporting SMU Athletics.

When a company signs up for Ramp through SMU, proceeds are reinvested to provide recurring support for SMU Athletics and the student-athlete experience.

SMU is building a modern model for supporting student-athletes and the overall athletic department, and Ramp brings businesses a smarter way to run their finances while contributing to that mission," said Mason Melnick, Head of Sports Partnerships at Ramp. Together, we're creating a partnership that helps companies operate more efficiently while generating new support for SMU, their alumni and Mustang Athletics."

Additional partnerships under the Mustang Partners B2B platform will continue to expand the portfolio of business solutions available to the SMU community while creating new opportunities to invest in the future of Mustang Athletics.
