DALLAS (SMU) – Mustang Partners announced that donor support totaled $98.6 million in new gifts and commitments during the 2025-26 fiscal year, marking the second-highest fundraising year in SMU Athletics history. This achievement contributed to the best fundraising year in SMU history across the University.
The year was highlighted by the launch of the Boulevard Society, made possible through a transformational $50 million commitment from Liz and Bill Armstrong, Carolyn and David Miller, Katy and Kyle Miller, and Mary and Rich Templeton. In addition to establishing the Boulevard Society, these four families made leadership investments in the Student-Athlete Benefit Fund, supporting scholarships, NIL advancement, and revenue sharing.
"Our supporters continue to demonstrate what makes SMU different," said SMU Director of Athletics Damon Evans. "As college athletics continues to evolve, philanthropy has become one of the most important competitive advantages an institution can have. We are deeply grateful to every donor who has chosen to invest, and we remain committed to building on this momentum as we continue to position SMU for sustained success."
The FY26 fundraising total will support scholarships, capital projects, student-athlete resources, and competitive excellence initiatives across SMU Athletics, helping provide a world-class student-athlete experience while positioning the Mustangs to compete for ACC and national championships.
"The inaugural members of the Boulevard Society, along with thousands of dedicated Mustang Club donors, have created remarkable momentum for SMU Athletics," said Alex Gary, Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations. "The launch of the Boulevard Society marked an exciting new chapter in philanthropic leadership, while the continued generosity of Mustang Club supporters remains the foundation of our success. We are sincerely grateful for the investment that is helping build a bright future for SMU student-athletes."
The remarkable level of philanthropic support for SMU Athletics underscores the University's strategic focus on Athletic Impact, demonstrating that investment in student-athletes and athletic excellence advances institutional priorities while creating meaningful benefits across the campus community.
The continued generosity of Mustang donors is helping fuel one of the most transformative eras in SMU Athletics history, providing the resources to compete at the highest level while ensuring future generations of Mustangs have the opportunity to succeed in competition, in the classroom, and beyond.
