Peruna (Human Mascot) serves as one of the most recognizable spirit ambassadors of the university. This role focuses on bringing SMU spirit to life through game-day appearances, special events, and fan engagement. Students in this role represent SMU with high energy, personality, professionalism, and pride.
Red & Blue Crew is a student spirit leadership group that works alongside SMU Cheer, Pom, and Peruna to support SMU Athletics at home games and select away events. Members help lead chants, energize the crowd, carry flags and signage, and serve as visible spirit leaders, all while enjoying some of the best views in the house at SMU games. This is not a cheer or pom team, and no dance or cheer experience is required. The focus is on school spirit, leadership, and fan engagement.
