Sonia Laskin is entering her first season as an Intern Athletic Trainer at SMU. Her primary responsibility is the healthcare of the football and tennis student-athletes.
Prior to SMU, she worked at Oklahoma State University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer while completing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. She gained experience with the OSU Equestrian, Women's Tennis, and Women's Basketball Team. She completed an NFL summer internship this summer with the Kansas City Chiefs. She graduated in 2021 from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.
Sonia is CPR/AED certified from the American Heart Association and has additional certifications in dry needling and is a Corrective Exercise Specialist. She is originally from Elk Grove, California and currently resides in Dallas, Texas. When not working, Sonia enjoys reading, working out, and traveling.
