Elias Ellefsen

Elias Ellefsen came to the Hilltop in January 2018 as an assistant human performance coach and currently serves as a co-director of human performance.

Ellefsen assists with the implementation and design of all training aspects for the football team and helps coordinate and supervise maintenance of the Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center.

Prior to his time at SMU, Ellefsen served as an assistant football performance coach at Kent State (Feb. 2017-Nov. 2017) where, in addition to working with the football program in regards to weight training, conditioning programs and nutrition, he served as a liaison between athletic medical staff, student-athletes, coaches and administration.

Before working at Kent State, Ellefsen was an athletic performance coach (Aug. 2014-Jan. 2017) at Baylor where he assisted with all aspects of weight training and speed development for football and assisted with the training of men’s tennis, women’s soccer, softball, cheer and track.

Additionally, Ellefsen was an athletic performance intern with EFT Sports Performance and served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

Ellefsen graduated from Baylor in 2016 with a degree in exercise physiology and went on to earn a master of science in kinesiology from Louisiana State University in 2018.
