SMU Athletics

Landon Massey came to the Hilltop during summer of 2016 as the role of Academic Counselor for the women's basketball and football programs and as the Assistant Tutorial Coordinator for the Academic Development of Student-Athletes (ADSA).
 
Prior to coming to SMU, Massey held positions as Academic Mentor and Assistant Academic Advisor at the University of Oklahoma.  In those roles he worked as an academic mentor predominantly with football, as well as women’s tennis, soccer, golf, men’s track and field, and cross country from 2014-2016. Also, from 2015-2016 he served the role as academic advisor for the novice rowing team.
 
Massey received his M Ed. from the University of Oklahoma in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration in 2016. While obtaining his degree, along with his roles in academics, he worked for the Oklahoma City Thunder and served on the Intercollegiate Athletic Administration Student Association Executive Board Committee, as the role of external operations liaison.
 
Landon is a proud Texas native from Coppell, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Dallas Baptist University in 2014. During his time at Dallas Baptist, he was a member of the track and field and cross country team. In his spare time Landon enjoys spending time with his fiancé, the outdoors, hunting, and watching sports.
