Lauren Damone joined the SMU football staff in the spring of 2018, serving as the director of branding and social media.
Damone comes to the Hilltop from Sorinex Exercise Equipment, where she served as the coordinator for creative marketing. As a founding member of the organization’s marketing department, Damone was responsible for brand management on social media platforms and coaching executive leadership in maintaining a successful social media presence for the company.
Prior to her time in Sorinex, Damone worked as a marketing specialist and social community manager for Penn State football (2013-17), and was part of the 2016 Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl Team. While there, Damone worked with coaches, athletics administrators and external marketing agencies on social media marketing campaigns. She also assisted the director of football operations in preparation of event logistics and itineraries.
Damone also served as an account coordinator for 300Brand and a public communications team member at Water Environment Federation.
Damone graduated from Penn State in 2012 with a degree in public relations and advertising and a minor in psychology.
