Hossain joined the Mustangs prior to the 2018 season and serves as the director of recruiting operations. He came to the Hilltop after four seasons as the director of high school relations at the University of Oklahoma.
As part of the Sooner staff, Hossain was responsible for leading the OU marketing plan in recruiting, while assisting with day-to-day operations of the football program. During his time in Norman, the Sooners produced three top-20 recruiting classes, and were in the top five in 2017. The team also made an appearance in the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl and the 2015 CFP Orange Bowl. The Sooners were also Sugar Bowl (2014, 2017) and Big XII Champions (2015, 2016). Fourteen NFL draft picks and nine free agents were recruited during his four seasons.
Hossain also spent time as the director of football operations at the University of California (2013) and Louisiana Tech (2012). From February 2004 until January 2010, Hossain was the on campus recruiting coordinator at Kansas. While at Kansas, he helped KU to its first back-to-back bowl wins, including victories in the 2007 Orange Bowl and 2008 Insight Bowl. The Jayhawks also won the 2005 Fort Worth Bowl, produced Top 50 Rivals.com recruiting classes in five of six seasons and saw 16 student-athletes go on to play in the NFL, including three Pro Bowlers.
Hossain graduated from Central Oklahoma in 2000 with a social studies education degree, and was also a member of the United States Army and Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1991-99.
