Shay Taylor serves as the Administrative Assistant for SMU's Olympic Sports. She assists with day-to-day administrative duties, team and individual travel, recruiting, operations, and other coach assigned duties. Shay previously spent six seasons as SMU Football's Administrative Assistant for Recruiting/Director of First Impressions. In this role, she was responsible for supporting the coaching staff, assisting in recruiting and operations, and maintaining the front office.Â
A two-time SMU graduate (B.A. in Cinema-Television and M.S. in Counseling), Taylor spent four seasons as a student athletic trainer working with the football team as an undergrad. Shay has also previously worked for the Ashford Rise School of Dallas, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, and Fieldhouse USA in Frisco, Texas. She also serves as a member of SMU Letterman's Board, as well as, the Letterman's Board Executive Committee.Â
A St. Rose, Louisiana native, Shay attended Destrehan High School (Destrehan, Louisiana). Her brother, Tyree Taylor, played linebacker at SMU in the late 90s and served as team captain in 1999. She is a Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern.
