Shay Taylor returned to the Hilltop in 2022 as the director of on-campus recruiting and experience and now serves as the director of football relations.
Taylor came from Arizona State, where she served as on-campus recruiting coordinator with the Sun Devil football team during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Prior to that, she worked in Olympic sports operations at ASU starting in November 2018.
She served two previous stints with the Mustangs, one as the administrative assistant for Olympic sports from Nov. 2017 to Nov. 2018, and the other as the administrative assistant/recruiting assistant for SMU football from 2010-16.
Taylor has also worked as a teaching assistant at The Rise School of Dallas, as a Member Services Representative with the Moody Family YMCA and as a sports specialist/manager on duty at FieldhouseUSA.
Taylor earned her undergraduate degree in cinema-television from SMU in 2009, and went on to earn a master’s in counseling from SMU in 2016. She is also a licensed chemical dependency counselor intern. Taylor completed internships with SMU’s Center for Family Counseling at Frisco ISD and with the SMU Health Center in alcohol and drug prevention. She has also served on the SMU Lettermen Executive Board.
