Biography

Senior (2015): Played in 10 games while starting in nine... Had 39 tackles (29 solo)... Had a team-high 9.5 tackles for losses with two three tackles for losses performance at USF and at Memphis... Had 3.5 sacks, two passes defended and three blocked kicks.

Junior (2014): Started all 12 games at defensive end... Led the team with four sacks... Tallied 40 tackles with six for-loss... Had a 17-yard fumble return against Memphis... Notched a season-high six stops against USF.

Sophomore (2013): Played and started in all 12 games at defensive end... Tied for fifth on the team in tackles with 49, including 25 solo... Fifth on the team in tackles for loss with six including one sack... Added his first two forced fumbles (Rutgers and at Cincinnati), first career fumble recovery (at Cincinnati), first career blocked kick (PAT at Texas A&M), first pass breakup and first two QB hurries.

Freshman (2012): Played in nine games... Had nine tackles, including a half-sack in 2012... Part of an SMU defense that posted two shutouts, tied an NCAA season record for pick-sixes, and tied for third in the country in total takeaways and second in fumble recoveries for TDs.

2011: Redshirted.

Prep: A three-star Rivals.com, ESPN.com and FoxSports.com recruit... Ranked as the nation's No. 56 defensive tackle by ESPN.com... Named to MaxPreps.com's Texas Top 300... Had 99 tackles, 32 TFLs and eight sacks as a junior... Totaled 115 tackles and 10 sacks during his senior campaign... A 2010 Class 4A All-State honorable mention selection... Named Dave Campbell's Texas Football's preseason Defensive District MVP... Held numerous offers, including ones from Minnesota, Virginia and Houston.
