David Kress is in his first season as the Chief Strategist (2025-26) after a season as a graduate assistant with SMU Men’s Basketball.
This is his and his second stint with the Mustang program. Prior to rejoining SMU in May 2024, Kress spent three seasons as a student manager at USC (2021-24) under Coach Enfield. He began his undergraduate career at SMU with the Mustangs as a student manager (2019-21) with the men’s basketball program prior to transferring to USC.
Kress graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Computer Engineering in May 2024. He is currently working towards a masters degree in Business Analytics at SMU in the Cox School of Business.
