GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist at Memphis 1/26...Tied career highs of 11 points and 3 assists with 3 rebounds and a steal in the AAC-opening win vs Tulsa 1/1... Emory transferred from Davidson College in July 2022. He will begin the 2022-23 with three seasons to play.
2020-22 (Davidson): Appeared in 16 games for Davidson as the Wildcats went 27-7, won the 2022 A-10 regular-season championship (15-3) and earned a bid to the NCAA tournament. Scored a season-high eight points in 23 minutes vs Fordham (2/26). Emory was recruited and played for retired and future hall-of-famer, Coach Bob McKillop.... In Emory’s Freshman season, he appeared in eight games. Scored a season-high 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, including 4-of-5 at the charity stripe in Davidson’s win over Southern Virginia (2/19). Also drilled a 3-pointer against George Mason (3/5) in A-10 quarters.
Prep: Started his high school career at Webb School of Knoxville (TN). Emory was a two-time all-region and all-district performer. As a junior, he was selected Division IIA All-State, while leading Webb School to its first ever state title in 2019... Emory spent his senior season at Woodward Academy (GA). He was GACA All-State in 2020, helping lead Woodward Academy to a AAAA State Championship in Georgia.... Emory scored 1,217 career points during his high school career in Tennessee and Georgia. He is a two-time State Champion.
Personal: Son of Rob and Dayo Lanier. Father, Rob, is the head coach at SMU. Has one sister, Kai, who also attends SMU.
