Biography

Senior (2023-24):  Played 31 games... Averaged 6.7 points and shot 37.0% on threes... GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Added 15 points (4-8 3FGs), 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal in win at Rice 2/7... Had 10 points, including a shot-clock beating 3-pointer with 55 seconds left, in a 72-69 win over UAB 2/4... Season-high 16 points in win vs Tulane 2/1... 12 points on 4-4 3FGs in win at Murray State 12/22...Had 11 points (3-5 3FG) with 2 steals and 2 rebounds vs HCU 12/23...Had 12 points (4-5 3FG), all in the second half, in the comeback win over West Virginia 11/20... SMU CAREER RECORDS: 36.3% on 3FGs (T-21st).

Summer 2023 (SMU 3-0 in Spain): In three games, averaged 5.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
 

2022-23 (Junior): Played in 27 games... averaged 3.1 points and 0.8 rebounds with 9 assists and 6 steals... Shot b34.6% on 3FGs... Had 4 games with 10+ points... GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Added 6 points (2-3 3FG), 4 rebounds and Had 11 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 3FG) in the OT win at Tulsa 1/18...Added 13 points and an assist at UCF 1/8... Had 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3FG), 2 rebounds and assist and a steal in 16 minutes in the AAC-opening win against?Tulsa 1/1.

Ricardo transferred from Marist University prior to July 2022 academic semester.  He will begin the 2022-23 with three seasons to play.  
 
2020-22 (Marist): In his sophomore season, he started 27 of 30 games played… averaged 13.6 points (ranked 1st at Marist, ranked 10th in the MAAC), 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, shot 37.4% on 3FGs (ranked 6th in the MAAC) and 70.9% on FTs, made 1.9 threes per game (ranked 8th in the MAAC).
In his freshman year at Marist, he earned MAAC All-Rookie Team, 4-time MAAC Rookie of the Week. Appeared in all 21 games, with 17 starts. Led team in scoring (11.0 ppg). Scored in double figures 11 times. He had a career-high 22 points at Rider, Jan. 23.
 
Prep: Wright averaged 21.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game as a senior as he led The Villages to a 21-7 season, the district championship and state regional semifinals. Wright set a school record with a 40-point game in December of his senior season. Wright was selected to play in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North vs. South Game as a senior, which consists of the state's top 24 seniors. He was named Class 4A Second Team All-State, and First Team All-Area by the Daily Commercial.
 
Personal: Son of Karen Angel-Wright and Richard Wright. Has four siblings, Neshawn Falconer (brother), Ambria Wright (sister), Brittney Falconer (sister) and Tania Wright (sister).
