Stuart Plamp is entering his second season (2021-22) as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the SMU Sports Medicine Team and sixth year as a certified athletic trainer. Stuart will be providing care to the women's rowing program.
Stuart comes to SMU after spending the last three years as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Louisville. While with the Cardinals, he served as the school's athletic trainer for the women's rowing team and assisted in management of chiropractic services to the athletics’ department.
Prior to going to the University of Louisville, he spent time as an assistant athletic trainer at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. While working with the Islanders, he served as the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team and also assisted with developing and implementing a new mental health emergency action plan and procedures for the athletic department. He began his collegiate athletic training career as an athletic training intern at Washington State University. In his time at Washington State, provided care to the novice women's rowing team and also assisted with the varsity rowing team.
Stuart who is an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and an American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider, earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree from Saint Louis University in 2014 and earned his Master of Athletic Training degree from Saint Louis University in 2015. He is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and currently resides in Dallas, Texas, with his dog Rocky.
