Kelli Swing

Kelli Swing is in her 22nd year (2025-26) as member of the SMU Sports Medicine staff, her first as Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine.

Swing is responsible for the healthcare of the women's basketball team and assists Associate A.D./Student Health and Well-Being Mike Morton in the overall operation of the athletic training room, coordinating the physical and mental health care provided to SMU’s 484 student-athletes. While intercollegiate athletics has a large focus on the physical demands for the student-athlete, SMU Athletics also understands the importance of providing resources to address the emotional and mental demands associated with being a student-athlete and has invested as such.

During her tenure at SMU, Swing has worked various additional sporting events, including Sports Medicine and Drug testing coordinator for the 2006 NCAA Women's Basketball Championships Regional Tournament, and Sports Medicine Coordinator for the two Nike Elite Academy camps and DFW AAU girls' basketball tournaments.

Prior to coming to SMU, Swing earned her Masters of Education in 2004 at Wichita State University while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Women's Volleyball team. In 2002, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa.

A native of Burlington, Iowa, she and her husband Patrick have a daughter, Halliday Ivee, and two dogs, Bella Blu and Jax.
