David Von Ins

David Von Ins arrived in Dallas in 2011 after stops as an assistant pro at the Vail Golf Club in Vail, Colo., and the Toledo Country Club in Toledo, Ohio. A "Class A" PGA professional, Von Ins worked with Jeanne Sutherland in Vail. He is currently in his seventh season (2017-18) with the Mustangs.

He graduated from Ferris State, where he earned his Bachelor's in Professional Golf Management.

"Having worked with David, I know what a tremendous teacher he is and the skill set he will bring to our program," said Sutherland. "He will play an important role in returning SMU to one of the nation's elite programs and we are fortunate to have him on our staff."

In his five years assisting Sutherland, Von Ins has helped the Mustangs advance to four consecutive (2013-16) NCAA Regionals. He has also helped mentor six all-conference selections, as well as 2014 American Athletic Conference Champion Jenny Haglund and 2016 Freshman of the Year Brigitte Dunne.
