Lindsey Olsen is in her 10th year (2022-23) as a member of the public relations staff at SMU. She serves as the primary contact for the Mustang football and women's swimming and diving programs. In addition to her public relations duties, she is responsible for men's basketball press operations, credentials and gameday staffing, as well as website maintenance and day-to-day office administrative duties.
 
As part of the football public relations team, the office was one of 11 honored nationally by the Football Writers Association of America in 2013 with the "Super 11" Award for excellence in sports information. The "Super 11" is handed out to departments which were deemed the best in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
 
During her time with the Mustangs, Olsen has also served as the media relations contact for the golf, men's swimming and diving, soccer and rowing programs.
 
Olsen came to SMU after serving a year as the athletic media relations staff assistant at Morehead State University. As a member of the Eagles' staff, she was responsible for the day-to-day media operations of the women's soccer, rifle, softball, cheerleading and dance teams. Her duties also included event management and publication design.
 
From 2009-11, Olsen served as the graduate assistant for sports information at Marian University in Indianapolis, where she was the primary contact for men's soccer, cross country, track and field, women's basketball, men's tennis and softball. While at Marian, Olsen also served as a lecturer of exercise and sport studies, specializing in coaching courses.
 
Olsen completed her bachelor’s degree in electronic media and gender and ethnic studies at Butler University in 2009, and served as a media relations student assistant for the men's and women's soccer programs. She competed on the soccer team and was a member of the dance team at Butler. In 2011, she earned a master's degree from Ball State University in physical education with a coaching specialization.
 
She is a member of CoSIDA and the FWAA and is originally from Algonquin, Illinois.
