Megan Falcon 2025-26 HS

Megan Falcon

Megan Falcon enters her second season (2026-27) as Assistant Coach for the SMU women's tennis program, after being brought on prior to the spring season in 2026. 

The Mustangs went 16-8 overall and a 7-5 in ACC play with Falcon on the staff. SMU also reached the NCAA Championship Round of 32, defeating Wichita State 4-1 in the opening round. The Mustangs finished the 2025-26 campaign ranked No. 24 by the ITA, the highest final ranking since 2009. 

Falcon was instrumental in training SMU's first All-ACC performers in freshman Amelie Van Impe and junior Caroline McGinley. Van Impe was named ACC Freshman of the Year and to the All-ACC Singles First Team, while she and McGinley made the All-ACC Doubles Second Team.

Individually, Van Impe and sophomore Sophie Llewellyn finished the year ranked in singles at No. 28 and No. 75, respectively. In doubles, McGinley and Van Impe finished the year ranked No. 16, the highest doubles end-of-year ranking for SMU women's tennis since 1989.

Falcon has a combined 11 years of coaching experience which includes stints at Gonzaga, Houston, Auburn and three years at Wisconsin under Coach Kelcy McKenna from 2017-19.  
 
She began her coaching career as the Director of Junior Tennis at the Bocage Racquet Club in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.   
 
A native of Alameda, California, Falcon finished her collegiate career as one of the top players in LSU women’s tennis history. A three-time All-American in singles, Falcon reached No. 1 in the nation in singles and a No. 10 ranking in doubles. The 2007 SEC Player of the Year, Falcon was voted one of the 30 greatest LSU Tiger student-athletes of the decade after participating in the 2007 Pan American Games and being named finalist for the 2007 Honda National Player of the Year Award. In 2023, Falcon was inducted into the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame.  
 
Falcon also spent two seasons on the professional circuit, attaining a WTA Ranking of 331 in singles and 413 in doubles. An ITA Scholar-Athlete, Falcon received her bachelor of arts in history and international studies from LSU in 2009.
