Efe transferred from Troy University in August 2022 after earning his Undergraduate Degree. He will begin his graduate season at SMU. He will begin the 2022-23 with only one season to play at SMU.  
 
2021-22 (Troy): Played in 31 games with 28 starts leading the team in scoring (11.5) and rebounding (6.7). He shot 48.4% FGs and 81.0% FTs. Troy went 20-12 and earned a CBI bid. HONORS: All-Sun Belt First Team, Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, Sun Belt All-Tournament Team, and NABC All-District 23 Second Team.
 
2018-21 (UTEP): Limited to just 14 games of action due to injuries, averaging 5.1 points and 2.8 rebounds. He scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds in the first matchup against Charlotte. He followed up the 15-point effort with 12 points and five rebounds the next night, shooting an impressive 6-for-8 from the floor.... As a sophomore, he played in 27 games, making three starts. He averaged 6.0 points and 3.8 rebounds. He shot an efficient 50.4 percent (63-of-125) from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. He recorded five games with at least 10 points including the 2019-20 season-opener where he scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds against New Mexico Highlands. He recorded an impressive 15-point, 12 rebound performance against Middle Tennessee for his 12th career double-double... In his freshman season, he was named to the 2019 All-Conference USA Freshman Team after averaging 12.7 points and a C-USA best 10.1 rebounds a game Efe grabbed a team-best 252 rebounds, finishing 16th in the country in rebounds and ended the season with five games with at least 15 boards. Efe was one of two players in Conference USA to average a double-double… Became the first UTEP player to average double-figure rebounds in a season since 1981-82… Odigie tallied 22 points and a career-best 20 rebounds against Marshall (Jan. 31)… Opened his UTEP career with 12 straight games with at least 10 points and six double-doubles… Set a UTEP freshman record with 11 double-doubles during his first season in El Paso.

Prep: Rated the no. 22 player in the state of Texas by TexasHoops.com… Named a top-10 player in the Houston area by RCSSports.com… Won a Texas State Championship… Averaged a team-leading 14.2 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Houston Hoopstars in 2017… Shot 61.2 percent from the floor during that run… Scored at least 20 points in 13 contests recording 12 double-doubles. Named Valedictorian.  
 
Personal: Full name is Omefay ‘Efe’ Johnson Odigie. Son of Curtis Odigie and Paula Lafluer. Has one brother and three sisters.  His mother Paula played basketball at Nicholls State and his sister Tiiffany, played basketball at Alabama State
