2018 (Sr.): Indoor: Finished fourth (17:03.96) in the 5000m and 27th (10:11.29) in the 3000m at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships... Finished 22nd in the 5000m (17:23.66) and 29th in the 3000m (10:08.70) at the Music City Challenge... Finished 23rd in the one mile run (5:14.49) at Arkansas Invitational... Outdoor: Took 14th in the 10,000m (38:48.09) and and fifth in the 5,000m (17:29.44) at the American Conference Outdoor Championships... Earned fourth in 1500m (4:34.27) at Bobcat Classic... One of three Mustangs to place in the top-25 at the Mt. SAC Relays 5,000m (17:04.95)... Placed fourth in 10,000m at San Francisco State Distance Carnival in 35:14.57... Took second in the 1500m at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, finishing in 4:42.13... Finished fifth in the 1500m (4:37.65) and eighth in the 3000m (10:14.72) at the TCU Invitational.

2017 (Jr.): Indoor: Finished 14th in the 5000m (17:19.42) at the American Athletic Conference Championship…Ran a season best time to finish sixth in the 5000m (16:51.66) at the Music City Challenge…Broke the 10 minute barrier to win the 3000m (9:59.67) at the J.D. Martin Invitational…Finished ninth in the 3000m (10:18.61) and 12th in the mile (5:17.67) at the New Mexico Cherry & Silver Invitational…Outdoor: Placed sixth in the 5000m (17:01.96) and seventh in the 10,000m (36:10.57) at the American Athletic Conference Championship…Finished 19th in the 800m (2:20.30) at the Michael Johnson Invitational…Placed 26th in the 5000m (16:57.54) at the Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Prior to SMU: A member of the Germany Triathlon National Team…Has competed in several triathlon international competitions, including the European Championships, European Cups and Youth Olympic Games 2010 in Singapore…Named Germany’s junior ambassador for the Youth Olympic Games 2014 in Nanjing/China.

Personal: Marlene Julika Gomez-Islinger… Born April of 1993… Parents are Ramon Gomez-Islinger and Julika Gomez-Islinger… Has one brother, who competes on the UW-Green Bay men’s tennis team … Anticipates majoring in Film and Media Arts.
