Alexis Harris is in her first year (2023-24) at SMU as Athletic Mental Health Counselor. Alexis is a native of Washington, Louisiana. She competed for 4 years of collegiate basketball at LSU – Shreveport and LSU – Alexandria. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Louisiana State University - Alexandria and a Master's in Counselor Education from Louisiana State University. Prior to her move to the Hilltop, Harris was a Sport Psychology & Counseling Intern at LSU and an Athletic Mental Health Counselor at The University of Missouri.

Alexis conducts individual therapy sessions with SMU student-athletes, addressing such issues as depression, anxiety, other disorders covered by the DSM-IV, and sport-related stressors.
