Aleyla Wooten has joined SMU Athletics as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics Administration. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management through SMU’s Cox School of Business.
Prior to joining us on the Hilltop, Wooten served as Director of Operations for the University of Memphis softball program, where she oversaw daily operations, as well as managed team travel, scheduling and game-day logistics. She also served as an administrative intern with Boston College Athletics during the summer of 2025.
Wooten spent four years at Eastern Illinois University, competing for three seasons as a member of the women’s tennis team. She also completed internships within the athletics academic services and development departments. As a student-athlete, Wooten was a two-time All-Conference honoree, earning recognition in both singles and doubles, and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
The Memphis, Tennessee native graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, including minors in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
