Amy Pryor enters her first season on the Hilltop after being named an assistant coach in April of 2026.

Pryor arrives SMU after spending last season as the Director of Operations at Mississippi State, helping the team finish the season with a record of 18-13. 

Before her time at MSU, Pryor served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at George Washington during the 2024-25 season. With the guidance of Pryor, George Washington recruited Gabby Reynolds, who was named to the Atlantic-10 All-Rookie Team by averaging 10.5 points per game. The Revolutionaries posted a 13-18 record and advanced to the second round of the A-10 Conference Tournament.
 
Prior to her time at George Washington, Pryor spent two seasons at Eastern Michigan, serving as Director of Basketball Operations in 2022-23 before transitioning to assistant coach in 2023-24. Pryor assisted in scouting, running practice and running a mentorship program for the Eagles in her time as assistant coach.
 
Pryor has also had a stop at West Mesquite High School, where she served as the assistant coach in 2020-21 before stepping in to become the interim head coach. She remained in this role for the rest of the season, tasked with coordinating team travel and providing team academic support along with her duties as head coach.
 
Prior to her time at West Mesquite, Pryor was the assistant head coach at Eastern New Mexico from 2011-13 and started her coaching career at Northern Oklahoma College in 2010. She also worked in a strength and conditioning role, developing players offensively.
 
As a player, Pryor spent time at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, Oral Roberts and completed her collegiate career at Oklahoma Baptist. At Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, she led the program in field goals made.
 
Pryor earned her bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Oklahoma Baptist in 2010.
