SMU Athletics

Cole is an Assistant Athletic Trainer at SMU, he started with the sports medicine program in 2021. In his first season at SMU, Cole worked as an Intern Athletic Trainer with football and men’s tennis as they went on to win the AAC Championship that year. As of 2022, Cole’s primary responsibility is now with the football team.

Prior to SMU, Cole spent two years working at West Virginia University alongside their Baseball and Football programs. He also spent a season working with the Oakland A’s in the Dominican Republic as a Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer and a year working with Christus Health.

He is originally from Waxahachie, Texas, and lives there with his wife and two dogs. He holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction, Dry Needling, Functional Range Conditioning, and Myofascial decompression.
