Gary Chambers II is entering his second year with SMU as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning in 2025.

He played a key role in the team's development in the weight room and in conditioning in 2024, which ultimately led to an appearance in the College Football Playoff. 
 
Chambers came to the Hilltop after working as a performance specialist at Exos, a sports performance and training organization that offers its services to a variety of businesses and athletes in Frisco.
 
While earning his master's degree in sport and fitness administration at Eastern Michigan, he served as a strength and conditioning coach for the Eagles for two years.
 
The Glendale, Arizona, native played collegiately at Arizona State, seeing action in 34 games with seven starts. During his career with the Sun Devils, Chambers tallied 690 receiving yards with four touchdowns on 36 receptions. Following his four years at ASU, he was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills.
