Ian Chennell is an Assistant Athletic Trainer, joining SMU Sports Medicine in the summer of 2022. His primary responsibility is the healthcare of the football student-athletes.
Prior to SMU, Ian spent time at West Virginia University working with the football team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Ian also spent 2 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys as a Seasonal Athletic Trainer.
Ian earned his Master of Athletic Training degree at the University of Arkansas. While in Fayetteville, he gained experience working with NCAA division I SEC football, women’s track and field, and softball. He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Dayton in 2018, he gained experience working with the football team at Dayton as well.
Ian is certified in CPR and AED, Graston Trained, and Dry Needle certified. He is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
