John Blackwell has been working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at SMU since 2021. His primary responsibility is the healthcare of the student athletes on the men’s and women’s golf teams as well as the spirit squads.
Prior to SMU, John was the Athletic Trainer for baseball at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he also completed his Master of Arts in Athletic Training. John also attended Kansas State University for his undergraduate degrees.
John is originally from Kansas City and loves rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He enjoys spending his free time wakeboarding, playing softball, and snowboarding.
