Rood joins the SMU Mustangs football program after working for West Point Academy's football team in the 2025 season. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, where he served as a student intern with the Crimson Tide football program.
During his time at West Point he helped create weekly content for the social media channels as well as team internal videos. Most notably the Army Navy game uniform reveal as well as short form game recaps.
A native of Huntington Beach, California, Rood earned his bachelor's degree in Creative Media from the University of Alabama in May 2025.
