Lauren Adee currently serves as the Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer. She serves on the Director of Athletics’ Executive Team and oversees revenue generation, strategic marketing and fan experience, creative services, MustangVision, and strategic communications. In addition, she leads the strategy around brand advancement for athletics and special event partnerships for facility rentals. She also oversees the department’s partnerships with LEARFIELD Amplify, RevelXP and concessionaire Aramark and serves as the primary sport administrator for the men’s basketball program.
Adee has played a key leadership role in SMU Athletics’ growth during one of the most transformative periods in department history. She helped position SMU for sustained success during its transition to the Atlantic Coast Conference through strategic brand advancement, revenue generation and fan engagement initiatives. Adee was instrumental in the creation and launch of Mustang Partners, helping establish an innovative model focused on maximizing revenue opportunities, strengthening corporate partnerships and enhancing the student-athlete and fan experience. Under her leadership, SMU has continued to expand its presence across the Dallas Metroplex, elevate its brand nationally and strengthen connections with alumni, donors, fans and corporate partners.
In Adee’s first two years overseeing revenue generation, marketing and fan experience, revenues increased by 98% ($16.2 million overall increase). In 2024-25, she oversaw a team that doubled football and women’s basketball ticket sales year-over-year and helped deliver the first volleyball sellout in program history. These units produced Ford Stadium’s first-ever streak of three consecutive sellouts, helped set a season attendance record and drove the highest percentage increase in attendance among Power Four football programs in 2024.
Prior to her current role, she served as Senior Associate A.D./Executive Affairs, where her primary duties included strategic planning, Title IX, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, internal controls (Business & Finance, HR and Legal Affairs), student-athlete success, professional development for staff and special projects.
Adee spent four years at Temple University, most recently serving as the Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts. She helped lead the Owls to three consecutive record fundraising years, overseeing the strategic direction of major gifts strategy for the Athletics Development office, providing leadership for the major gifts team and managing the Athletics Development budget and three gift officers. In her first year at Temple, she oversaw the Owl Club (annual fund), increasing membership by 52% and recording the highest annual giving total in program history, a 25% increase. She also served as an adjunct professor in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management, teaching the Fundraising and Development course in the Master of Science in Sports Business program.
Prior to her time at Temple, Adee worked at The University of New Mexico as the Director of Annual Giving. During that year, she increased annual giving to the Lobo Scholarship Fund by $300,000 and helped grow the Lobo Club to an all-time high of 4,490 members. Before UNM, she served as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions and Assistant Director of Development, respectively, at New Mexico State. She also worked for the Atlanta Hawks and former Atlanta Thrashers as a Group Sales Account Executive.
Adee graduated from Temple’s Fox Business School with a degree in marketing and served as a men’s basketball manager for four years, including two seasons under Hall of Fame coach John Chaney and two under Fran Dunphy. She also received her Master of Business Administration degree from New Mexico State. Adee is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
