Lucy Reed is entering her first year at SMU as the Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director after spending three years at Baylor.
In Waco, Reed was hired in July of 2021 as an Assistant Academic Coach in Baylor Athletics' Student-Athlete Center for Excellence. In December of 2021, she transitioned to be the Director of Operations for the Track & Field program.
She was in charge of team travel, business operations and overall logistics for the Bears track and field team.
As an Assistant Academic Coach in SACE, she served Acrobatics & Tumbling, Men's Basketball as well as the Track & Field program, overseeing their academic affairs. She advised and was a part of academic success and support.
Prior to Baylor, she was an Academic Mentor from July to December of 2021 for Arizona State University in their office of Student-Athlete Development. There, she worked with several student-athletes per semester, aiding in their transition from high school to college, monitoring their academic process and assisting in the creation of individualized success plans.
The Lititz, Pennsylvania, native earned her bachelor's degree in public relations from Temple University, while being a four-year letterwinner on the women's field hockey team. She then earned her master's in sport law and business in 2021 from Arizona State.
