Greer comes to SMU from Nashville Rowing where he was the Adult Program Director and an Assistant Coach with the junior men and women. In Nashville, he coached over 200 athletes with a wide range of ages and varying levels of experience.

While at Nashville Rowing, he was also a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Vanderbilt University. He served the women’s varsity squad that won the Women's Collegiate 4+ at the 2023 Head of the Charles Regatta and were the eventual 2024 ACRA National Champions in the Women's Varsity 8+.

Max is a US Rowing Level II Certified Coach. Greer received his bachelor's in art history and communications from Loyola University Maryland in 2023, where he was a five-year varsity rower. He served as team captain in his final year, leading the greyhounds to all-time program best finishes at the Dad Vail Regatta.Â
