Mia Cassidy has been a dedicated member of SMU Cheer for the past five years and brings over two decades of cheerleading experience to the program. During her time on the team, she served as captain or student coach every year she participated. Mia began cheering at the age of three and concluded her all-star career competing on a Level 7 team. She is a 2024 College Cheerleading National Champion, a USASF-certified coach, and a former Cheerleading Worlds competitor.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mia has lived in McKinney, Texas for nearly 12 years. She has coached at Pro Spirit in McKinney, where she has worked with all-star athletes ranging from ages 4 to 18. Mia comes from a proud SMU family with two siblings, one of whom also attended SMU. Her passion for the sport and her wealth of experience make her a valuable leader and mentor to the SMU Cheer program!
